Sponsorship Program:
A $5 donation can be added to each registration and will be donated to Mary’s Home for unwed mothers, a non-profit Catholic organization that does not receive sponsorship from any of the primary adoption agencies.
The donation is optional and those who wish to make it may add the donation to their shopping cart along with their regular registrations on the online registration form. The donation will be presented to a representative from Mary's Home at the end of the Gathering.
About Mary's Home:
Mary's Home is a non-profit Catholic organization which provides support services for unwed mothers in Chunchun, Gangwon-do, Korea. Established in 1979, Mary’s Home is run by the Good Shepherd Nunnery with the belief that nothing is more precious than a human being.
Mary’s Home has helped nearly 2,800 unwed mothers deliver babies in a safe environment and to grow and develop their parenting abilities to provide the best life possible for their family.
The decision to raise their baby on their own is not an easy one because the mothers face significant obstacles to success – limited financial resources, social prejudice, and ostracization from their families. Here is how you can help them create a loving and healthy home for their child:
1. Support the mothers with one can of baby formula a month.
Currently, Mary's Home' can support ten unwed mothers with infant milk formula. Unfortunately they must deny many other requests for milk. Can you sponsor a mother and child by providing one can of powdered milk -- 5,000~10,000 won per month?
2. Donate Deposit for House Rental
A donation toward a rental deposit assists mothers who need housing for themselves and their babies.
3. Support Childcare Expenses
Support childcare expenses by sponsoring a child for 10,000 won per month. Your donation will be added to other donations to cover the monthly 100,000 won cost. You will receive information updates and a photo of the child you support.
4. Support Joseph's Home.
Mary’s Home also operates and manages a halfway house called Joseph's Home for up to
five mothers and their babies. This provides a stable and safe environment for families.
