As of March 20th, it’s officially spring (well, for those of us in the US and Europe, at least) and we are looking forward to the warm weather and all the fun it brings! And speaking of fun, there are events scheduled all over the globe, including G.O.A.’L’s 10th Anniversary & Annual Conference in Seoul, KAHI’s International Gathering and Film Festival, and (drum roll please…) the next IKAA International Mini-Gathering in New York City, hosted by Also-Known-As! We hope to see you soon at these and other local events!
IKAA GATHERING 2007 DVD:
A DVD of the IKAA Gathering 2007 is now available for purchase on the IKAA website!
The DVD costs $18 (including postage) and includes a video of the Gathering (Adoptee World Cup soccer tournament, and various workshops, cultural events, and social activities, including the Samsung-sponsored gala dinner featuring world-renowned Korean B-Boy dancers), the introductory video shown at the Opening Ceremonies, the Research Symposium and some photos, with a total running time of over an hour and a half!

KOREAN HIP HOP IN PARIS

HAWAII INTERNATIONAL GATHERING AND FILM FESTIVAL:
SAVE THE DATES: October 10 – October 13, 2008
Korean Adoptees of Hawai'i (KAHI) has been working hard in preparation for the upcoming international gathering for Asian adult adoptees in Honolulu, from October 10-13, 2008!
O'ahu, known among the Hawaiian islands as the "Gathering Place," will serve as the site for Hawai'i's first Asian international adoptee gathering. KAHI invites all Asian-born adoptees, age 18+, as well as their significant others and children, to come to Honolulu for four days of fun and friendship, films and food, local culture and sightseeing, and of course, sand, surf, sun and aloha!
Negotiations for a specially discounted hotel rate at The Hawaii Prince Hotel – Waikiki are under way. Please wait before making a reservation until further details are announced. Rooms will be available before and after the Gathering for your convenience.
Asian adult adoptee film directors are also invited to contact KAHI regarding their films that explore themes of adoption or adoptee experiences. Selected films will be presented at a special Film Festival during the Gathering, along with a Q&A panel or discussion session. Festival entry guidelines are available on the KAHI Website.

G.O.A.’L 10th ANNIVERSARY & ANNUAL CONFERENCE:

March 5, 2008 officially marks G.O.A.'Ls 10th anniversary. However, to celebrate and commemorate this milestone, we will hold this event together with our annual summer conference.

We invite all past and present leadership, adoptee members, volunteers, sponsors & friends to join us as we retrace our historical achievements in forging our vibrant community over the past 10 years, and look ahead to an empowering next 10 years.
